This is a little like trying to rate life insurance - I've never tested it and hope I never do.
I showed it to a friend who is a fire chief and he say a blanket like this is the best way to fight a kitchen fire. It will smother the fire with no mess and also puts a fireproof barrier between you and the fire.

I haven't had to use it so far (let's keep it that way). I bought this after a small gas oven catching fire and I did not want to use the fire extinguisher (creates lot of mess). So i thought to have an extra blanket lying around. The packaging is fine. I haven't taken out it yet but I believe it should work as described. I only gave four stars for that reason.

Haven't had a chance to test it. Will remove stars if fails to save house from burning down.

After the first review with only 2 stars, I was contacted by the seller. I did not expect any reply but they were very apologetic and we came to an agreement. After this very positive end result, I can highly recommend them as they take care of their customer if there is an issue.

This is a safety precaution for possible kitchen fire issue. Hope we never need to use it but it sure looks as if it can put out the fire. Well and neatly packaged so immediate use is easy to obtain, just pull on the handles. A secure grommet allows us to hang it in kitchen but where it is not obtrusive. Every kitchen should have this. Very inexpensive insurance.

I purchased this blanket because the fire extinuishers I want are a bit more expensive and they will take a bit longer to save for. However I will keep them both ready I would rather use this blanket over a fire extinguisher if somebody was on fire. I think the blanket and the extinguishers are worth it. I plan on keeping a blanket in my house, my personal truck, and my work van. I guess I will update my review if I use it but I really hope I dont. Id rather spend money on this and be prepared than see somebody get hurt over something I could have prevented.

Although I hope I never have to use this fire blanket, I think everyone should be prepared and have one or more of these in their home, business, boat, etc. It is a heavy duty, high quality blanket that I feel prevent a flash fire from spreading. I like the fact that it comes in different sizes. I plan to buy more for my family members

A handy useful item to keep on hand. One never knows when one might need it. I hope I never do, but it looks durable enough to do the job should need be. I keep this one in the attic near our furnace just in case. Set alongside a fire extinguisher, I feel better about having this on hand. I'll probably buy a few more to keep in the kitchen etc. along with a fire extinguiser.

I love the packaging of these fire blankets - easy to use and understand, even in an emergency. The blankets were delivered on time, and I appreciated the prompt delivery. Having one of these in the bedroom and one in the kitchen gives us greater peace of mind - even though we hope we never have to use them.

I unpacked one fiberglass fire blanked and that was fairly painful, so many small fiberglass splinters. I am not sure if this is normal but in an emergency I am ok with splinters..

Won’t know how this works till a fire occurs. Looks nice. Does have a very strong chemical/moth ball smell. Hopefully airing it out in garage for a bit will do the trick. No way the wife would allow this in house with the smell it currently has.

It's really hard to review this product without actually testing it. There are instructions printed on the package. Simply pull the 2 black straps down to release the blanket.
I hope to never use this product but it's a good secondary device to have in addition to the fire extinguisher.

The blanket is very compact and easy to use. If you were in a serious situation where a fire has spread, this blanket wrapped around you would help prevent burns trying to exit. Small fire, can easily be thrown on top to be extinguished. My daughter has a hard time using fire extinguisher; I showed her how to use blanket which was much easier for her. So would recommend for small kids. This also very easier to store in any room, such as an small drawer instead of a can spray. Thanks

Looks and feels like a quality product. The fiberglass material is like a fire resistant cloth called Refrasil that we use at work to cover flammables from welding and burning sparks. I have not put this blanket to use, and hope to never need it, but I feel very comfortable having it nearby. The stitches on the 2 pull tabs could be a little more reinforced but they worked when I gave them a pull, opening the velcro flap and pulling the folded blanket out of the pouch. The red nylon pouch has what looks like a water-resistant inner surface, so I expect this will be okay to hang outdoors. I will be ordering a larger size to hang near my fire pit. Also, some others commented that glass fibers came loose from the blanket when opened, but I did not notice any, nor was I irritated by handling it. We use this material all the time at work, and it holds up well after repeated uses in an industrial setting, so I think its a great deal for an emergency blanket.
